Paratha, the most popular Indian flatbread. These have their origin in Indian sub continent. It has different name in different countries. It is parantha in northern India to parotta in southern India to Palata in Burma and Farrata in Maldives. These are perepared by frying wheat dough on a tava. The people have created new forms of parathas by adding stuffings to the wheat dough and then frying them. There is another form for parathas which are prepared in tandoor. These are popularly known as Tandoor parathas. Parathas are served with curd, chutney, pickles or some gravy. Various forms of parathas include:
